Welcome Page

Welcome to my Blog! My mother Barbara and I opened T. Carolyn, a boutique specializing in Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom in 1991. Back then, we were the first store in the country to specialize in Mothers at the Wedding. We also opened our doors with 54 dresses. Today we have 2,500 dresses, suits and gowns in stock for Mothers – in sizes 2 Petite to 28 Women’s.

Over the years we have seen and heard everything! A lot has changed in the wedding industry in the last 21 years. When we opened, weddings were primarily held in churches with a small reception. Today, weddings are now on beaches, vineyards, hotel ballrooms, monasteries, cathedrals, and historic libraries. Some weddings have themes. Some grooms wear tuxedos, others linen suits, suits, or even tuxedo jackets over jeans. Bridesmaids’ dresses now are long, short, all the same color, different colors, and sometimes each girl wears a different dress. Quite frankly weddings are as varied as the bride and groom themselves.

My goal is to use my experience to help you find answers to your questions. I will also share information with you that I think is vital in finding your dress for the wedding. I will give you a behind the scenes look at the entire process. I will begin with the designing and take you through the manufacturing, on to special ordering, and what to do after the dress arrives. I have enlisted the help of my friends who are top designers and experts in the Bridal field to share their thoughts and occasionally answer your questions. I will post articles and answer questions you submit. I’m here to give you the benefit of my knowledge and 21 years of experience.

I invite you to become an active participant in this blog as well. Please feel free to post your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas for others to read. It is my sincere desire for you to not only find the answers you are looking for, but to also pass on any wisdom you have gained along the way.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your very special day!

  1. Finally a place Where I can find appropriate attire!

I loved the premiere of your show and wanted o know how I can find what make and style a dress is that was shown behind one of the mothers? There was a one shoulder aubergine full length with shear short sleeve “caps”?

I live in Canada and can’t find anything decent here so plan to come to your store in the near future.

Thanks for reaching out to us! We just returned from Canada. I’m so glad you enjoyed the show! I’m not sure which dress you’re referring to. Which episode was it in? Please let us know when you plan on coming down to see us, we want to be sure to give you a proper Texas greeting! We’ll also be happy to advise you on transportation and accommodations. Looking forward to working with you!

  2. I had a wonderful experience at your store today!! I found the dress and Inez was wonderful-thank you so much for your help and professionalism.
